Rain, rain, go away.....

Anyone who has been reading the FreightDog's blog knows that the flying weather in Northern California has been on the rough side this March. (The forecasts this month have been something along the line of, "Gather animals two by two...") Subsequently, I've not been doing any GA flying this month.

I did make the trip last month down to Torrance. Even wrote a post about it. Unfortunately do to a lack of understanding of the blogspot post editor I managed to delete it. Lesson learned, create post in Word, paste to the web editor.

In summary, it was fun trip. It was nice to have a second set of eyes and ears along for the ride.

The first unusual addition to that trip was the need to fly from LVK to RHV to refuel due to the LVK self service island being out of commission. Not much of a complication except the battery decided to not have enough kick to get the motor running again. Thanks to Vern Miller (from Vern Miller Aviation of course), for making our delay a short one. Have heard lots of good things about this guy over the grapevine, and after meeting him I would believe them all.

The second unusual item was a night landing at Harris Ranch. It’s dark, the lights are dim, and it seems so much smaller at night. None the less it was a fun challenge, and one of my better landings. Plus the reward meal, can’t beat it.

Well one more day or rain to break the all time record. I’m hoping for some sunshine so my son’s Little League team can get a game in.
